Types of needles

2. Types of Needles

2.1. Standard tattoo needle attached to a long needle bar

You use these needles with coil or rotary machines that are compatible with this older, original system. Standard tattoo needles with a long needle shaft are traditional tools for coil machines in the art of tattooing. They consist of one or more needles mounted on a long

mounted on a stainless steel bar. This needle bar is then clamped into the bobbin machine to deposit ink into the skin.

2.2. Needle Modules (Cartridges)

PMU (Permanent Makeup) tattoo needle modules, also known as cartridges, are specialized needle modules used in tattooing and permanent makeup. They come in a wide variety of configurations and diameters tailored to different applications and techniques. This needle system, currently the most widely used, has quickly gained widespread acceptance. Needle modules are much easier to change, and there is now a seemingly unlimited selection of configurations. Compatibility with many machines that use this system is another advantage.

All needles, regardless of the system, should always be individually packaged in a blister pack in a sterile condition, with a best-by date and lot number.
