Hygiene

Hygiene refers to measures to prevent infectious diseases. Hygiene measures primarily include cleaning, disinfection and sterilisation. Compliance with hygiene guidelines is the top priority when performing skin procedures.

Skin procedures require a high sense of responsibility and the necessary discipline to prevent and avoid the transmission of pathogens!

We have made it our goal not only to fulfil the highest artistic demands, but also to meet the highest hygiene standards. Only sterile and certified products are used in our work.

PMU artists come into contact with applicators and body fluids such as blood and lymph. For this reason, all protective and safety measures are of great importance. A hepatitis B vaccination is also strongly recommended for PMU artists.

The right workspace

  • The treatment room should be separated from the other rooms.
  • Walls, surfaces, furnishings, work surfaces and floors should be easy to clean and disinfect.
  • Metal elements must be rustproof.
  • Non-professional persons or animals are not permitted in the work area.
  • The treatment room is prepared for each client and is clean, hygienic and disinfected before they enter.

The treatment area should be equipped as follows

  • Hand basin with hot and cold running water

  • Only specially suitable and prescribed disinfectants may be used (surface and skin disinfection)
  • Clean from top to bottom and from inside to outside
  • Clean objects that are touched frequently and constantly (such as light switches, mirrors, door and shop handles)
  • Observe the manufacturer's disinfection plan (contact time, application...)
  • Used disposable items (except needle modules) are disposed of with the residual waste

After the treatment, the treatment room must be prepared for the next customer

  • Cleaning and disinfection of all surfaces and devices
  • Re-cover all surfaces and devices with disposable protective films and underlays
  • Prepare the worktable again

Wash and sanitise your hands

Why washing your hands is important:

The PMU artist must wash and disinfect their hands thoroughly before and after contact with the client: i.e. before putting on and after taking off the disposable gloves. This prevents the spread of microorganisms between body zones or people.

The customer should also sanitise her hands before and after the treatment.

Preparation of the customer

The following hygienic precautions must be taken to protect health.

  • The customer should remove jewellery, glasses and contact lenses before the treatment.
  • The hair is covered with a disposable headgear.
  • The décolleté is covered with a disposable cloth (also to protect clothing).
  • Make-up is removed from the areas to be treated.
  • The skin is cleansed and disinfected.
  • The client must always be informed about possible health risks, wound care and aftercare both before and after the treatment.
  • The information provided must be documented in writing (declaration of consent).
  • The customer should disinfect her hands with a suitable product before starting the treatment.
  • This should be repeated after the treatment.
  • Advise your customers to use hand sanitiser several times a day during the wound healing period (small hand sanitisers in liquid or gel form are available from any pharmacy or drugstore).
